I have always held a fondness for the flute since I was little. It is in three movements. The first movement is in the waltz style. The 2nd movement is slow and sweet and yet ends on a bittersweet F sharp minor tonic utilizing both A major and F sharp minor throughout. It starts in A major but is bittersweet as it ends on a F sharp minor chord. The third movement is quick and utilizes the similarities in between 6/8 and 3/4 time. The entire sonata is a typical classical sonata form and is my first piece written for the flute.
