Harry Warren (music) and Mack Gordon (lyrics) originally wrote At Last for a 1942 movie musical, in which it was played by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra. Glenn Miller enjoyed a Top 10 hit single with the song that same year, but it wasn't until nearly 20 years later that R&B singer Etta James immortalized the song with her bluesy signature rendition that remains popular to this day.
