Pieces are inspired by Vietnamese folk music. The eight beginning bars of Nostalgia, in natural harmonics emulate the unichord, a Vietnamese single-stringed instrument. The two movements of Two Dreams were written ten years apart and triggered by the musical sounds the composer heard upon waking from his actual dreams. The whole piece is polytonal but based on Vietnamese folk tonalities.

هي مستوحاة قطع من الموسيقى الشعبية الفيتنامية. ثمانية الحانات ابتداء من الحنين إلى الماضي، في التوافقيات الطبيعية محاكاة unichord، صك واحد أوتار الفيتنامية. كانت مكتوبة الحركتين اثنين من الأحلام عشر سنوات، وبصرف النظر فجرها الموسيقية يبدو الملحن سمعت عند الاستيقاظ من أحلامه الفعلية. كل قطعة هو polytonal ولكن على أساس النغمية الشعبية الفيتنامية.
