It is a surprising fact that in a country like ours, with a vibrant school of musicology made up of diverse scholarly associations which organise symposia and congresses to diffuse studies which have already been finished or are still at the planning stage, that there should exist an artist of the stature of Enrique Granados lacking a complete biography. or that this composer has been neglected by the numerous post- graduate students that our universities prepare for their doctoral theses, most of which are dedicated to themes and composers far short of the creative projection of this figure and his work. The reason for this enigma could be the dispersion of his works, something that Editorial Boileau has set out to remedy with this edition of this monumental opera omnia, but the fact that Granados' unexpected, tragic and premature death interrupted the pianist and composer's vital, creative cycle and came as a great surprise to the scholars who would otherwise have continued following his activity and musical projection. The biography of Granados is still to come but, thanks to factors as diverse as the celebration of the centenary the Academia Granados-Marshall or the proliferation of projects based on the figure of this composer from Lerida, there are signs that this situation will soon change. This work presents a biographical, composer and a pedagogue study. written to accompany this pianistic opera omnia. of one of the most significant creators of Catalan, Spanish and World music from the turn of the 20th Century.
