Intervals, mirrored in both key color and contrary motion, are presented, with time signatures and number of measures to match. Nine measures of 9ths, in 9. 8 time, eight measures of octaves in 8. 8, etc. When we get to the 3rds, there doesn't seem like enough time for any real fun, so we multiply the number of measures required by that same number, 3 X 3, and get 9, similarly for the seconds, 2 X 2 4.
