The festival is based on extending the ensembles involved via a rigorous adjudication located in a non-competitive landscape. It has the flavour of festivity and joy, not of a 'performance to win' mentality. Events such as this are what they are because of the leadership and teamwork that goes into making them happen. Peter Morris is an inspirational leader, both of his school music department. Villanova College. and of the festival team. He engenders the culture of sharing and celebration that permeates the Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival. Festal Intrada is for my friend, Peter Morris, and my friends and colleagues in the Catholic education system who teach young people about the joy of making music.
