This setting was published on p28 of Thomas Jarman's Sacred Music, comprising Thirty Six Select Hymns , London. c1812. Hymn Tune Index tune number 13786. The same text was set by Jarman to a different tune, 'Sevens Cheerful', in the first edition of his first book, Sacred Music, Comprising Select Hymns , London. 1803-5. in the second edition of that collection, published in 1821, the tune was reharmonised and retitled as 'Redemption'.
